Last year, the Amazon Devices conference unveiled many new features around Alexa, including a brand new 15-inch screen, the excellent Echo Show 15. Last night was the now traditional Amazon Keynote, the event that allows different departments of the firm to reveal to us the novelties to come both in terms of new peripherals and future software updates. This year again, our editorial staff was invited to the event, so we discovered for you the various new features to come around the connected home at Amazon.
The conference kicked off with a brand new Kindle tablet that goes far beyond the simple e-reader we all know. Equipped with a stylus, this new Kindle Scribe allows you to digitize your notes and becomes, in addition to a practical monochrome reader, a real everyday tool.
Halo Rise: A smart bedside lamp that takes care of you
More than just a bedside lamp that tells the time, halo Rise promises to take care of you and your sleep. With multiple sensors capable of measuring several constants of your sleep and drawing up complete reports on your different cycles, Helo Rise promises to help you sleep better.
Its Intelligent lamp is able to recreate the sunrise as well as its sunset to help you fall asleep or wake up better. Available soon at a price of $139, Halo Rise will of course be fully compatible with the Amazon Echo Assistants of the house.
The Echo range is renewed: Same design but new possibilities for the connected home
If the Echo Studio and Echo Dot are entitled to a new generation with an unchanged design, some announcements are however very interesting.
We learn for example that the fifth generation of Echo Dot will be able to be used as an integral part of Wi-Fi MESH eero systems. Indeed, an Echo Dot Gen5 will be able to serve as a Wi-Fi access point in the Echo ecosystem to extend the home's Wi-Fi coverage even further. An interesting point when you know the simplicity of implementation of eero systems and especially the high quality of coverage as well as the speeds achieved.

Nothing new concerning the Echo Show range, the Echo Show 15, the latest addition to the range is however equipped with Fire TV, without much surprise given the wide diagonal which allows it to be used as an extra TV in the kitchen for example. You can then easily find a show by asking Alexa. It will also be possible to ask him to launch a movie or the latest Prime TV series. A new Fire TV widget will display shortcuts to recently streamed apps, recently watched content, and other content available through Fire TV. To navigate the entertainment options on Fire TV, you can either touch the screen, use your voice, or pair with the new Fire TV Alexa (3rd Gen) voice remote, another new feature introduced during this conference.

A new version also for Echo Auto
Echo auto is also being renewed, although the device is struggling to fit into our vehicles in Europe, it seems that this service is used much more across the Atlantic. A new generation of Echo Auto, in a new design (more practical) will therefore join the existing range soon to perhaps finally allow more vehicles to be fitted in Europe.
Echo Auto comes in a new slimmer design and includes a new adhesive backing for more placement flexibility in your car. The device is built with five microphones designed to hear your demands on music, air conditioner and road noise. Echo Auto adds Alexa to the car to play music, make calls, and even get assistance when you're having trouble with your vehicle.
If Echo Auto is not a great success, a new partnership signed with BMW will make it possible to find Alexa directly installed natively in the next vehicles of the German brand.

Wi-Fi really goes pro with Eero for Pro and Eero PoE
We have seen on the blog several tests of the eero WiFi solution offered by Amazon. A really powerful version while being extremely simple to deploy and administer. The next generation eero Pro is getting ever closer to what professional solutions like Cisco or Ubiquiti offer. Indeed, this new generation of eero pro is finally available in PoE, enough to integrate perfectly into the house through the Ethernet network and allow to have access points in the strategic points of the house without having to an electrical outlet nearby.
Amazon will soon be offering an all-new "eero PoE 6" dual-band PoE Wi-Fi 6 access point that offers up to 180 square meters of coverage and supports more than 100 connected devices without performance losses.
Amazon will also offer a high-performance wired "eero PoE Gateway" PoE switch that supports speeds up to 10 Gbps with two 10 Gigabit (GbE) ports and eight PoE-enabled 2.5 GbE ports. The eero PoE 6 powers a range of PoE devices such as access points and security cameras with 100W PoE output power available when used with the eero 140W power adapter.
Designed for small businesses, this new eero solution that offers a professional-grade wifi solution and dedicated customer support to facilitate the deployment and management of wifi networks. Finally, it supports multiple SSIDs, captive portal management to create a personalized guest wifi experience for visitors via personalized welcome screens, and includes eero Insight and eero Secure for business.
Available in October, the eero for Pro solution therefore promises a Wi-Fi system that finally meets the expectations of pros. The access points should be offered at a price of $299 and the PoE Gateway at a price of $649. This is a solution for companies and not individuals unfortunately, companies opting for this solution will also have to pay an annual license at $299 to benefit from all the on-board security services.
